Streetbikes cycling sessions on hold
Streetbikes cycling sessions are on hold at the moment due to Covid 19 restrictions. Due to COVID 19 there will be changes in how we deliver our sessions, but this shouldn’t stop us getting people back cycling again.
All our sessions now need to be prebooked so we can manage the sessions in a socially distanced and safe way. Please make your booking by click here or call the Streetbikes office on 01484 654530 or mobile 07873 773417.
Once we can restart our Community Ride they will run every Saturday from 9.30am until 11.30am, please try and get there at least 10 mins before the ride leaves. The community rides are for people who are reasonably confident on a two wheeled bike and want to cycle in a safe environment with the added experience of having qualified ride leaders to support you on the ride. The rides run from Spen running track along the SpenValley Greenway.
Ride costs are £5 per person or £10 per family of four, this includes the hire of a suitable bike , helmet, and High vis vest.
Our mixed Ability Cycling Sessions run from 10.30am until 2.15pm on a tuesday and 1230 until 2.40 pm on Saturdays. Sessions cost £5 per person and include the use of bikes of your choice and helmet hire.
The sessions will be limited to 40 minutes and will require people who need assistance mounting and dismounting bikes to have their carer or family member with them at all times.

Everything you needed to know about Streetbikes
Our cycling sessions are held at Spen Valley Leisure Centre and Leeds Road Sports Complex and are fully inclusive for all people with all abilities. We can provide either an adapted or non-adapted bike and an helmet for your session, or you can bring your own bike, however this will need to be checked by our qualified bike mechanics to make sure it’s safe for use. The sessions are held on the two sports centre’s athletics tracks, Calder Valley Greenway, and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal routes. A small charge will be made for the use of the bike, helmet and track, your session will generally last up to one hour.
Our qualified cycle instructors bike leaders will be on hand to help and to give advice.
Street bikes relies on your generous bike donations to carry on with its work. We take any bike of any size and in any condition as long as the frame isn't cracked, dented, or snapped in two and there is no more than 25% rust - we love a challenge, but can't resurrect a write-off!
First of all, if you could complete the donate a bike form located in the donate a bike tab on our website and submit, this will register your bike for either dropping off or picking up. Once registered, your bike will receive a unique bike number, this will enable us to let you know where it ends up i.e. re-provided at an affordable price, Children’s Christmas giveaway, Destitute Asylum Seekers Huddersfield, Christian African Relief Trust, low income families.
